QSR Technician

About the role

QSR Technicians work under the direction of the QSR Manager to provide quality inspections, sortation training, and initiate rapid response teams to mitigate and resolve field installation issues and/or emergency repairs at job sites.

Responsibilities

• QC components coming from manufacturing and direct-ship vendors to identify missing, incorrect, and improperly assembled material prior to installation.
• QC installation to ensure correct and professional execution.
• Provide feedback to management and site supervision.
• Give early notification of potential issues to avoid excessive punch-list items after Commissioning and Go-Live.
• Train site teams through hands-on instruction.
• QC sorter components prior to installation to ensure corrections are made before commissioning.
• Verify required components are on-site prior to the installation date.
• Ensure electrical devices and cables are correct, properly labeled, and correctly installed.
• Troubleshoot issues arising during installation and commissioning, providing solutions to fix them.
• Provide feedback and detailed status reports to the QSR Manager.
• Maintain a standing team ready to report to customer facilities immediately to assess damages in the event of major crashes.
• Mobilize immediately to make emergency repairs as quickly as possible.
• Assist projects when extraordinary circumstances threaten completion dates.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret installation manuals and forms.
• Ability to clearly communicate in both written and spoken formats.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direction.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5+ years in conveyor and/or material handling installation preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience within the conveyor or material handling industry preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to rent a car without a co-renter.
• Must be able to use a personal vehicle for most travel.
• Must have own hand tools to bring to sites.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, kneel, crouch, and balance frequently.
• Ability to climb, ascend, or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc., using feet, legs, and/or hands and arms frequently.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to sit/stand frequently for long and/or intermittent periods of time.
• Time spent between a general office environment (with normal sitting, standing, and minimal lifting) and active construction site visits.
• On active job sites, exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, electrical power and control systems, and high places.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at active job sites.

Travel Requirements

This position requires up to 100% travel to various job site locations.

Pay

The base hourly range for this role is $20.96 - $31.39. The actual base rate offered will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
