About the role

The Medication Technician position at MBK Senior Living is dedicated to providing exceptional care and services to residents. This role involves assisting with medication administration, resident care, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should have 1+ years of related work experience and a valid CPR & First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Aid residents with their daily medications and treatments.
  • Notify supervisors if medications are not administered correctly and document the reasons.
  • Maintain accurate records and track medication orders.
  • Assist caregivers and document incident reports.
  • Respond to emergencies and resident requests promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Communicate resident changes of condition to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Certification or education as required by state regulations.
  • Valid CPR & First Aid certification.
  • 1+ years of prior related work experience.
  • Experience handling medications preferred.

Qualifications

  • Age 18 or over.
  • Completed background, health screening, and negative TB test results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology for documentation.
  • Ability to manage resident behaviors and respond to emergencies.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medication administration and record-keeping.
  • Ability to manage resident behaviors.
  • Proficiency with technology for documentation.

Job Summary

The Medication Technician is responsible for providing the highest level of compassionate, quality resident care and services by assisting residents with medication administration and activities of daily living, in accordance with their personalized service plans. This includes documenting, delivering, and administering or assisting with treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians, in a safe, organized manner and in accordance with all policies, procedures, government regulations, and guidelines.
