QHSE Advisor, SLS

About the role

As a QHSE Advisor you will support several projects to meet the requirements of the Quality, Safety and Environment Management systems. The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognizing hazards and seeking to minimize risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, and environmental standards. You will champion QHSE initiatives in the workplace while ensuring that QHSE processes are being adhered to (inspect / assess) in accordance with site standards, best practices, company requirement, and legislated standards for quality, health, safety, and environment. This role will have responsibility in Midland, Texas as well as other facilities/regions as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical duties for continuous improvement in QHSE performance
• Produce regional QHSE statistics monthly, identify trends and take proactive initiatives
• Lead by example for all QHSE KPIs (safe driving behavior, opportunity reporting, behavioral interventions, stop work authority, etc.)
• Communicates appropriate QHSE related information on an accurate and timely basis
• Lead or assist management in incident investigations and near misses, while completing required documentation
• Encourage overall hazard identification and reporting of all incidents and near miss incidents by all personnel
• Maintain positive, consultative relationships with outside stakeholders to ensure expectations are met in the areas of loss control, environmental performance and quality
• Provide ongoing leadership, coaching in safety and loss control techniques, while being visible, approachable and available to all levels, with the objective of improving our efficiency and minimizing our losses
• Coordinate and deliver regulatory and internally required annual QHSE training for new hires as applicable
• Coordinate and deliver monthly safety meetings to employees
• Communicate QHSE standards to employees to ensure compliance with company, regulatory and industry standards
