QC Tech
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to analyze raw materials and production materials, ensuring compliance with established specifications. This role requires more than routine testing, as you will be solving quality non-conformance issues and running product tests. You must be tech-savvy, possess strong research skills, and be capable of critical thinking.
Responsibilities
- Approve raw materials and finished goods for use
- Determine physical values of materials and ensure chromatographic compliance as detailed in the Quality Control procedural manual
- Perform tests including pH, specific gravity, refractory, titrations, GC, micro plating, and more
- Conduct sensory quality testing such as smell and taste, ensuring no allergies
- Report discrepancies to the Quality Control Manager and assist in determining their origin
- Calibrate instrumentation and perform preventative maintenance of equipment as per technical manuals
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines within the workplace
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of Quality Control experience within flavors, fragrances, food, or similar industries
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in running GC and maintaining lab equipment
- Strong understanding of chemistry, including the mixing of chemicals
- Excellent organizational skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with micro plating
- Collaborative and open-minded approach
- Problem-solving abilities and creativity
- Knowledge of food science, chemistry, biochemistry, and wet chemistry
- Experience with GMP, color matching, and lab equipment
Work Environment
You will work a mid-shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6:30 PM. The facility is modern, clean, and promotes a collaborative atmosphere. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, IL.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
