About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Permanent QC Manager in the Engineering industry. This role is integral to ensuring the quality of our engineering projects and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the quality control process, reviewing and interpreting structural drawings and specifications, conducting welding inspections, and ensuring compliance with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the quality control process to ensure the highest level of performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Review and interpret structural drawings and specifications to ensure the accurate execution of engineering projects.
- Conduct regular welding inspections, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards and compliance with AISC regulations.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols, providing training and guidance to the engineering team as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure that quality control measures are incorporated throughout all stages of project development and execution.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, developments, and changes in regulations, ensuring that the company’s quality control processes remain current and effective.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality control management within the engineering industry.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in reviewing and interpreting structural drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in conducting welding inspections and ensuring compliance with AISC standards.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and direct the work of others.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
- Proficiency in using quality control software and other relevant technologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
