Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
- Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
- Inspect raw materials.
- Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors, and other appropriate members.
- Test welders for qualifications.
- Interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams.
- Supervise and review project requirements, determine minimal requirements and procedures, and schedule and coordinate required examinations, inspections, or tests for the discipline or project segment assigned to.
- Supervise or perform examinations, inspections, or tests as project management and/or client requires.
- Affords assistance in selecting and/or testing personnel to perform specific work activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
- Supervise or schedules examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project for discipline assigned to.
- Supervises, completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
- Affords assurance of implementation of job site Quality Control Program.
- Trains and evaluates Quality Control Personnel.
- Provides reports to Quality Assurance Control on program status and personnel performance as required.
- Coordinates discipline examination, inspection, and test plans with Quality Control personnel, project management, and client representatives.
Qualifications
- Must have a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate or Quality Control experience.
- NACE I-IILVL II PT NDE.
- Extensive knowledge of multiple types of welding processes, and the materials used for each process.
- Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Organized.
- Ability to work in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Team player and effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
- Basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
- Willingness to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
- TWIC.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- Experience working as a welder on industrial construction projects.
- 3+ years of experience working as a welding inspector.
- Ability to meet all physical requirements.
- Ability to work at heights more than 300 ft.
- All required tools.
