QA Tester

About the role

Senior QA Tester supporting an existing contract to build out new voting machine software. The role runs through the end of March 2027 with potential for extension. This is a fully onsite position in Boca Raton, FL. The position is anticipated to close on Oct 2, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain test cases and test suites
• Execute functional, system, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Perform bug/defect reporting and maintain requirements traceability
• Participate in software builds and releases, and execute testing deliverables

Qualifications

• ISTQB Certification is a plus
• 24 years of QA experience with a focus on delivering high‑quality solutions within tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of QA principles and processes, including test case and test suite development, bug/defect reporting, requirements traceability, software builds and releases, and test execution processes
• Basic understanding of the different test levels: Unit, Component, System, System Integration, Acceptance

Skills

• Experience with software testing techniques: Boundary Value Analysis (BVA), Equivalence Class Partitioning, Decision Table Testing, State Transition Testing, Use Case Testing, Error Guessing, Exploratory Testing
• Basic Linux knowledge and hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day Linux activities (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar distributions)
• Basic programming/scripting skills in Bash, Python, JavaScript, or another language; ability to read, understand, and use scripts for testing and troubleshooting
• Basic networking fundamentals and hands‑on troubleshooting: OSI/network layers, TCP/IP fundamentals, IP addressing and subnetting, DNS, DHCP, network connectivity troubleshooting; ability to determine whether an issue relates to the application, OS, virtualization layer, or network
• Familiarity with computing and reporting tools: Excel, smartphones, tablets, and similar devices
• Additional skills: test plan, use cases, SQL queries, automation, Selenium, strong problem‑solving, go‑getter mentality

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $55.00/hr.
