Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections, detailed inspections, and various tests to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and standards.
- Inspect semi-finished components, precision machined components, and sub-assemblies for conformance to customer specifications and predetermined mechanical standards.
- Maintain inspection reports and records inspection data on department-approved forms.
- Use precision measuring equipment and perform detailed dimensional inspections as required.
- Coordinate inspection activities with leads and employees in the area where work is being performed.
- Read and comprehend blueprints and test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.
- Perform mechanical testing, such as tensile, shear, fatigue, stress durability, head docility, installation force, torque, and other tests to ensure conformance to quality requirements and/or specifications.
- Verify calibration on all test equipment before use.
- Control and maintain the measurement of uncertainty calculations for all required gages.
- Adhere to and implement all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3-5 years of metallurgical or physical laboratory experience.
- Understanding of test equipment and lab procedures.
- Completion of college level mathematics, metallographic, or mechanical engineering a plus.
- Basic mainframe computer systems and familiarity with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software, Database systems.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing level within normal/average range.
Qualifications

- Proficiency in the use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, ring gages, pin gages, go and no-go pin gages, optical comparators, and microscopes.
- Experience in reading and understanding blueprints and test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Good understanding of Geometric tolerance per ANSI Y145.
