About the role

The QA Technician – 1st Shift is responsible for managing the review and regulatory release of import items, generating warehouse inventory reports, issuing Quality Notification and Defective Material Reports, and coordinating the quarantine process. They also handle customer complaints, process inbound returns, conduct audits, and participate in cross-functional teams to reduce returns.

Responsibilities

  • Import: Manage the review and regulatory release of import items. Communicate with import/export groups for release. Generate weekly warehouse inventory reports; issue QN, DMRs, DMAs for out-of-specification materials and past shelf-life products. Coordinate quarantine and quality notification processes, and maintain fixed bins for PSL. Satisfy product sample requests (25%).

  • Quality: Follow up on customer complaints, sample and examine products, troubleshoot warehouse issues, research historical records, update fixed bins for PSL, and provide troubleshooting support (35%).

  • Pest Control Program: Work with external service providers, review weekly service records, coordinate with maintenance manager, and perform weekly trap inspections (20%).

  • Audits: Conduct monthly sanitation/Food Safety audits, lead regulatory inspections, and participate in third-party/customer audits (e.g., AIB, Subway) (10%).

  • JTE: Perform other duties as assigned (10%).

Requirements

  • Education: Relevant Technical Discipline, GED preferred. Experience: Combination of demonstrated technical and self-directed skills equivalent to 3+ years in a similar role. Business Expertise: Basic understanding of how all areas integrate to achieve goals. Problem Solving: Uses judgement based on analysis of information to identify and select solutions through the application of technical experience and review of precedents. Interactions & Interpersonal Skills: Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills are required.
