About the role
Initiate, support, and lead Production Team activities targeting Quality continuous improvement and assurance within the Consumables Division. Reports to Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures; perform detailed mathematical calculations.
- Maintain an uncompromising attitude towards quality.
- Thoroughly understand, enforce, and follow the Lincoln Electric Quality Management System as it applies to all daily activities.
- Initiate changes for continuous product and process improvement.
- Maintain manufacturing quality performance metrics and/or quality records.
- Assist with the evaluation, proper identification, and disposition of all non-conforming items and materials.
- Be aware of all products, documents, and process changes in your area of responsibility which affect quality.
- Utilize the Quality Management System and appropriate divisional personnel to support or drive Continuous Improvement.
- Assist in the training and performance feedback of production personnel to production supervision.
- Develop and perform random process and product audits.
Requirements
- Technician II: Vocational Training & 3+ years of related experience or GED with 5+ years in related field.
- Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years experience in a relevant work environment.
- Completes a variety of atypical assignments with a limited degree of supervision; oversight focused only on complex new assignments.
- Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally on the shop floor on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system.
- Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and Quality standards.
- Ability to use measurement and inspection tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Pins, Gauges, Protractor, and Scale.
- Capable of frequent standing and walking and lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Excellent attendance, safety, and work record.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
Schedule
This position works 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift and rotates weekly.
Pay
Pay Range: $19.05/hr – $30.05/hr. Target Bonus: Variable Profit-share.
