QA Technician

About the role
We are seeking a QA Technician to perform various optical fabrication processes including beveling, milling, blocking, grinding, polishing, curve generation, and inspection/measurements at our Boulder, Colorado facility. This site specializes in manufacturing ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings, and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.
Responsibilities
- Identify improvements in processes (e.g., reduction of handling, measuring, storing) and communicate those ideas to the Sustaining/Quality Engineering team.
- Support Process Engineering by conducting Tests of the Day (TOD) and specific data collection to validate the reduction of inspections and metrology measurements.
- Complete First Article Inspections with minimal assistance.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to Level I QA Technicians and develop Manufacturing Technicians to conduct self-qualification.
- Perform measurement and inspection on complex optics and optical assemblies using non-traditional methods and equipment, including necessary setup.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (required).
- Associates degree (preferred).
- Knowledge and understanding of moderate to complex math calculations (a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance position in a manufacturing environment.

Pay
$21.00 - $29.00 per hour, depending on experience.
