Responsibilities

  • Walk the floor to become familiar with the products that are running, and consult with the outgoing technician for any items of concern.
  • Collect samples from each injection molding machine, secondary process, and print line for the required attribute / dimensional / functional testing per the specified frequency.
  • Record the results on the appropriate forms.
  • Notify the Shift Supervisor of any non-conformances that are found.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform in-process attribute verifications and document checks.
  • Document the results on the Quality Monitor.
  • Perform first shot verifications and document the results using the appropriate forms.
  • Avoid quality defects by notifying the Quality Assurance Manager of any quality defects which are not corrected promptly.
  • Identify non-conforming product with “Hold” labels and update the hold log.
  • Assist as necessary with LDR verifications.
  • Notify the Quality Assurance Manager immediately of any Quality Department equipment deficiencies.
  • Ensure a smooth transition between shifts by communicating any ongoing concerns/ lingering issues to incoming technician.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment; plastic manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Technical background and/or experience in Quality Assurance highly preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand or walk for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Good computer skills required.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring devices, such as height gages and calipers.
  • Good mathematics skills required.
  • Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Frequent works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills—verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
  • Good attention to detail, time management skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
