QA Technician- 1st Shift

About the Role

Brakebush Brothers Irving in Irving, TX is seeking a QA Technician for 1st Shift. As a family-owned company celebrating over 90 years in business, Brakebush provides high-quality chicken products to restaurant operators, schools, healthcare facilities, convenience stores, and more.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product sampling as well as chemical, microbiological & physical testing
• Write neatly and clearly on all paperwork
• Operate and maintain a computer
• Maintain and clean assigned tools
• Complete all required paperwork and database entries accurately and in a timely manner
• Communicate to direct report when there are deviations from the process or specification
• Place product on Hold and complete the Hold Tag process accurately and timely
• Communicate with management regarding production, safety, and employee relations concerns
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands

Qualifications

• Display positive attitude and teamwork skills
• Basic comprehension of speaking, reading & writing in English
• Basic understanding of mathematics (addition, subtraction, percentages, multiplication, and division)
• Basic understanding of quality control (acceptable vs. unacceptable)
• Comprehension and knowledge retention of all Brakebush Irving, Inc. training programs (specifically quality and food safety)
• Must complete a pre-employment physical and drug test
• Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to frequently bend, lift, and twist
• Must be able and available to work overtime as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Entry-level experience

Working Conditions

• High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment, and dust may be present
• Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required
