QA Survey Technician

About the role

QA Survey Technicians at Mach9 are the domain experts ensuring our platform meets real surveying and engineering expectations. You'll work closely with product and engineering to validate feature extraction accuracy, test new workflows, and provide clear feedback on what works and what doesn't.

Responsibilities

• QA new features against real-world LiDAR and mobile mapping datasets
• Identify extraction errors, edge cases, and workflow friction before they reach customers
• Provide structured, specific feedback to engineering and product teams
• Create screen recordings and narrated walkthroughs for tutorials, marketing, and demos
• Build repeatable QA checklists and testing workflows
• Act as the in-house authority on how surveyors and engineers actually work

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with surveying, drafting, or CAD (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar)
• Expert knowledge of feature extraction, geometry, and infrastructure workflows
• Sharp eye for detail, noticing when a curb line is off or a classification is wrong
• Comfort explaining technical workflows
• Able to work onsite in San Francisco

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with geospatial data processing and analysis
• Knowledge of surveying standards and practices
• Strong communication skills to explain technical workflows to non-technical stakeholders
