About Michels Infrastructure Solutions

Michels Infrastructure Solutions (MIS) brings together the full capabilities of the Michels Family of Companies under a Super General Contractor (Super GC) model, providing mission‑critical owners and developers with a single point of accountability for every phase of project execution. By combining self‑performed specialty design, construction, and commissioning services, MIS delivers large‑scale, multidisciplinary projects with greater control over safety, quality, schedule, and cost. MIS specializes in the delivery of hyperscale data centers and mission‑critical facilities, leveraging expertise across mass grading and site development, wet and dry utilities, fiber and telecommunications infrastructure, ground improvement, deep foundations, structural concrete, power infrastructure, and commissioning.

Position Overview

As a QA/QC Manager, you will lead quality assurance and quality control activities across large‑scale hyperscale data‑center and mission‑critical infrastructure projects. You will develop, implement, and maintain project‑specific quality programs while ensuring all work complies with contract requirements, technical specifications, codes, standards, and customer expectations. This role works closely with project management, field operations, engineering, procurement, commissioning, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to establish a culture of quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Oversee inspection and testing activities across civil, utility, structural, electrical, telecommunications, and mission‑critical construction scopes.
  • Manage quality documentation, inspection reports, testing records, punch lists, non‑conformance reports, and corrective action programs.
  • Coordinate quality activities with project teams, commissioning personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen quality performance and project execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead QA/QC efforts supporting hyperscale data‑center and mission‑critical infrastructure projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, quality plans, inspection requirements, and testing procedures.
  • Develop and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality management plans, and project quality procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, field observations, and quality assessments throughout construction activities.
  • Verify compliance with project requirements related to grading, earthwork, utilities, concrete, power infrastructure, fiber systems, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage non‑conformance reporting, root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and issue resolution processes.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into project execution plans.
  • Track and maintain project quality metrics, inspection logs, turnover documentation, and commissioning records.
  • Support owner inspections, customer audits, commissioning activities, and final turnover requirements.
  • Provide quality training, mentoring, and guidance to project personnel and subcontractors.

Why You?

  • You like to surround yourself with dedicated, value‑driven people.
  • You relish new challenges and evolving technology.
  • You cringe when you hear: “Because that's the way we've always done it.”
  • You believe quality is built into the work, not inspected into it.
  • You enjoy solving complex technical and operational challenges.
  • You thrive in environments where attention to detail and accountability drive success.
  • You are motivated by ownership, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional project outcomes.
  • You want to work to make a difference.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quality Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline and 7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting large‑scale mission‑critical, hyperscale data‑center, EPC, industrial, power, utility, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, inspection processes, testing procedures, commissioning requirements, and turnover practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing project quality plans, inspection programs, audit programs, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience evaluating civil, utility, structural concrete, telecommunications, fiber, power infrastructure, and mission‑critical construction activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, contracts, quality standards, and inspection requirements.
  • Experience managing non‑conformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs.
  • Experience supporting commissioning activities, turnover packages, as‑built documentation, and owner acceptance processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, BIM 360, SharePoint, Aconex, or similar construction‑management platforms preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, field personnel, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams.
  • Quality certifications such as CQM, CQM‑C, ASQ, ISO Auditor, or related credentials preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% and support long‑term onsite project assignments throughout North America as required; travel may include extended durations based on project assignments
