QA/QC Chemist

The position purpose is to perform a variety of chemical, biological, and physical tests required for research, development or quality control. The QA/QC Chemist will be responsible for performing routine tasks and analyses on samples in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all login procedures, both manual and electronic, of samples delivered to the laboratory, ensuring proper labeling, including maintenance of paperwork and logbooks.
• Sub-sample a variety of materials, process and product samples and follow proper analytical methods required for compliance in accordance with established guidelines and training.
• Improve existing testing procedures with the goal of improving testing efficiency, accuracy, precision, and repeatability.
• Resolve quality issues including instrument reliability, accuracy, precision, turnaround time, capability, and value.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies in the disposal of hazardous waste materials.
• Provide technical support and repair on analytical instruments such as PARR Calorimeters, Karl Fischer, Ion Chromatography, Closed Cup Flash Point, GC/MS, ICP-OES, Hydra AA – Mercury Analyzers, and Microwave Digesters.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related discipline required. 2 or more years experience in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience preferred. 1 or more years experience working with analytical instrumentation preferred.
