Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions
- Sales/Customer Service:
- Provides technical support to customers.
- Supports activities to meet or exceed sales (revenues) and business objectives.
- Solves piece count, weight, visual inspection, fingerprint, and regulatory discrepancies with customers.
- Communicates and resolves discrepancies with customers, accounting, sales and marketing, and operations personnel.
- Communicates and coordinates discrepancies and resolutions to the appropriate Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service personnel.
- Performs adjustments to waste receipts due to discrepancies.
- Safety/Compliance:
- Releases and handles discrepant material in compliance with the permit, WAP, WAAP, internal policies, and government regulations.
- Generates, updates, and maintains all documentation associated with discrepancy resolutions.
- Ensures proper resolution for the safe handling and processing of discrepant material.
- Communicates material segregation or reclassification to the appropriate Operations personnel.
- Presents discrepancies and resolutions to the Special Waste Review Committee as necessary.
- Signs, scans, bursts, and files manifests.
- Manages residuals manifests, including, but not limited to, data input, filing, and matching up returned manifest copies.
- Manages TSS manifest, including, but not limited to, data input, filing, and matching up returned manifests copies.
- Operations/Production:
- Captures and releases discrepant material with Operations personnel including the CSF Foremen, Production Planning Manager, Fingerprint Lab Supervisor, and the ES II - Visual Inspection.
- Communicates to CSF personnel and dispatch operations the rejection or return of material to the customer or to an alternative vendor.
- Requests additional testing and/or visual inspection of discrepant material as necessary.
- Records, monitors, and reports discrepancy data and discrepancy resolution progress.
- Will be cross-trained in visual inspection, driver return, residuals, manifest management, and other duties/responsibilities.
- Serves in rotating on-call for QA/QC functional responsibilities during evenings, weekends, and company holidays.
Other Daily
- Uses advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing, and e-mail.
- Understands both RIS’ ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and assists with executing their objectives.
- Performs other job-related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related environmental science, with chemistry training, required.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Five or more years, hands-on experience in similar customer service and/or operations position is required.
- Experience in chemical processing or related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, RCRA, and EPA regulations is required.
- Position requires customer contact.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
- Must be highly organized, analytical, and able to problem solve to meet business objectives.
- Must be willing to work additional hours or off-hours as required to meet business objectives.
- Must be able to resolve conflicts to meet business objectives.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
