We are seeking a professional like you to ensure specification quality of both, purchased raw material and Site-manufactured products. This is done by creating and/or updating test methods extending to SOPs, JTAs and PWIs for the QC and Production labs. You will also coordinate the training done for the analytical/wet methods in the QC lab and standardize technique as well as methods run not only in the QC lab, but also in the Production labs. You will also ensure that equipment and instruments involved in QA are up to date regarding calibration and coordinate the efforts to keep them working with the required precision and accuracy. As a QC Chemist you will... Understand Environmental and Quality Policies and perform job responsibilities safely, you will follow documented work procedures and instructions, while keeping in mind the Environmental Aspects and their potential Impacts. Work in a team environment acting as backup for the QC Supervisor and QC Lab Application Specialist, as well as provide back-up support to Laboratory Technicians on an as needed basis. Leverage your education in Chemistry and/or your experience in QC lab to manage the (QC) Laboratory ECP and calibration program. Be a subject matter expert with knowledge of analytical testing equipment and techniques, you will provide the required training on analytical/wet test methods to the Lab Technicians and ensure the required standardization across the different shifts. Oversee and support the QC activities in Production Labs using your strong leadership skillsDemonstrate your knowledge of statistical tools and continuous improvement techniques by identifying improvement opportunities, including new test methods, elimination of tests, etc. and work directly with technical, purchasing and suppliers to improve first time quality. Use your strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate the introduction of new test equipment, including training as appropriate. Additionally, you will act as site representative on a Test Method committee and Inter-site Lab COP. Successfully work independently, updating SOPs, PWI and JTAs related to the analytical/wet testing in QC and Production Labs. Utilize your strong problem solving and organizational skills to ensure that the QC installations/equipment receive the right preventive and corrective maintenance, keeping a close contact with Engineering and Maintenance Department, as well with the external Technical Services. Additionally, you will give support to Engineering for the Capital Projects and Investments related to the QC installations/equipment. If you have... BS Degree in Chemistry (or related) or 5-years experience in Quality Assurance. Significant breadth and depth of experience in QC systems and processes. Ability to direct and motivate sub-ordinates. Well-developed analytical and organizational skills. Familiarity and ability to maintain compliance with site, business and corporate policies, particularly in the areas of safety and the environment. Ability to interact with and communicate effectively to all levels of the site and with external stakeholders.
