Qc Chemist
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze samples using a range of analytical instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Ion Chromatography (IC) and/or IC-MS
- Perform routine quality control testing in strict accordance with laboratory SOPs and established methods
- Conduct thorough data review, documentation, and accurate entry of analytical results into laboratory systems
- Interpret and evaluate test results against established specifications; escalate out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results appropriately
- Support troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and basic instrument qualification activities as needed
- Ensure full compliance with laboratory safety standards, quality procedures, and GMP/GLP requirements
- Collaborate with QC team members to maintain testing schedules, meet turnaround times, and support production release timelines
- Assist with preparation and review of batch records, test reports, and other quality documentation as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- 1–3 years of hands-on analytical laboratory experience
- Proficiency with GC and HPLC instrumentation, including method execution and basic troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and data integrity practices
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a production-driven environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ion Chromatography (IC), IC-MS, Karl Fischer (KF) titration, or other analytical techniques
- Prior experience in a quality control or production-support laboratory role
- Background in pharmaceutical, chemical, food/beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with LIMS or electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systems
- Working knowledge of GMP/GLP principles and regulatory compliance expectations
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
