About the role

We are seeking a full-time QA Manager for Hardware Manufacturing at Redwire Space Components in Marlborough, MA. The ideal candidate will manage a small Quality team and fulfill both QA and managerial duties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage QA Engineers and QC Inspectors
  • Represent QA in customer meetings such as CDRs, MRRs, TRRs, and PSRs
  • Review new customer proposals and contract requirements for compliance
  • Own and continually improve the quality management system
  • Work with parts engineering as the GIDEP representative
  • Lead internal audit team as AS9100 Management Representative and auditor
  • Create and approve methods and procedures for fabricating, inspecting, and testing Aerospace products
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data from quality inspections to determine root causes of product problems
  • Implement corrective actions with engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Communicate failures, non-conformances, deviations, and waivers to customers
  • Ensure quality standards comply with AS9100 and ISO9001
  • Support Quality metrics gathering and reporting, Cause and Effect analysis, and Program customer interface
  • Work with purchasing to ensure quality requirements are flowed down
  • Guide a small safety team in conducting safety and facility audits
  • Report safety incidents and near misses to the Redwire Environmental, Health, and Safety team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Science, or a relevant field
  • 10+ years of QA Management experience in an Aerospace/Military industry
  • 5+ years' experience in AS9100 and/or ISO9001 standards
  • Knowledge of standard Aerospace Industry requirements
  • J-STD-001 Space Addendum knowledge and/or certification
  • NASA 8739.1 and/or NAS8739.3 knowledge and/or certification
  • Experience with EE and Mechanical Drawings and Schematics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems

  • Ability to communicate technical issues both verbally and in writing
