About the role
We are seeking a full-time QA Manager to join our dynamic team at Redwire Space Components in Marlborough, MA. This role combines both QA and managerial responsibilities, focusing on ensuring high-quality aerospace products and systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a small Quality team of QA Engineers and QC Inspectors
- Represent QA in customer meetings such as CDRs, MRRs, TRRs, and PSRs
- Review and ensure compliance with new customer proposals and contract requirements
- Own and continually improve the quality management system
- Work with parts engineering as the GIDEP representative to analyze and report on GIDEPs
- Lead internal audit teams and serve as the AS9100 Management Representative and lead auditor
- Create and approve methods and procedures for fabricating, inspecting, and testing Aerospace products
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data from quality inspections to determine root causes of product problems
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards comply with AS9100 and ISO9001
- Ensure corrective actions meet AS9100 requirements and prevent similar defects in future builds
- Communicate failures, non-conformances, deviations, and waivers to customers
- Guide a small safety team in conducting safety and facility audits
- Work with purchasing to ensure quality requirements are flowed down
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Science, or a relevant field
- 10+ years of QA Management experience in an Aerospace/Military industry
- 5+ years' experience in AS9100 and/or ISO9001 standards
- Knowledge of standard Aerospace Industry requirements
- J-STD-001 Space Addendum knowledge and/or certification
- NASA 8739.1 and/or NAS8739.3 knowledge and/or certification
- Experience with EE and Mechanical Drawings and Schematics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
