QA Lead

Role Summary

bp is seeking a QA Lead – Test Automation Engineer to drive quality strategy, automation delivery, and test execution across critical enterprise applications supporting the energy and utilities business.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy, test planning, and automation execution across multiple projects and releases
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and regression suites for UI, API, and integration testing
• Partner with product owners, developers, business analysts, and operations teams to define test coverage and acceptance criteria
• Oversee test execution, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and reporting of quality metrics
• Build and maintain automation solutions aligned with Agile/DevOps delivery practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase coverage through automation
• Mentor QA team members and provide technical guidance on testing best practices, standards, and tools

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in QA, test automation, or software testing
• 3+ years in a QA lead or senior automation role
• Strong experience with Selenium, Java or Python, TestNG/JUnit, API testing, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Experience designing scalable automation frameworks and maintaining regression test suites
• Background in utility, energy, oil & gas, or related regulated enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, defect management, and release processes
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, REST Assured, or similar tools
• Knowledge of enterprise systems, data validation, and integration testing
• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, cloud platforms, or operational technology environments
• IISTQB or similar QA certification
