QA Engineer Tech

Role Overview: This position involves inspecting manufactured, modified, and machined engine parts for high-performance racing engines using manual techniques and programmed measuring equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform quality inspections on engine components to ensure dimensional, material, surface finish, and engineering specification compliance.Operate CMM and optical measurement systems (e.g., ZEISS Calypso), analyze results, and maintain inspection records.Maintain inspection plans, certifications, reports, and traceability records; determine rework or rejection of nonconforming parts.Support engineering and manufacturing with measurement requests, troubleshooting, and quality improvements.Recommend efficiency improvements and ensure safety procedures are followed. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma required; knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, GD&T, surface roughness, and manual inspection techniques.Minimum of 5 years QA or machinist experience in aerospace or manufacturing, with proficiency in operating and programming CMMs and related equipment.Experience with CAD/CAM, inspection analysis, and ERP/MRP systems preferred.Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills; ability to work independently and under pressure. Key Decisions & Working Conditions: Approve or reject parts based on inspection results, schedule equipment maintenance, and recommend process improvements. Physical demands include bending, crawling, standing, lifting, and repetitive motions, often in hazardous environments. Emotional requirements involve quick decision-making, hazard awareness, and adaptability.
