QA Engineer – Automation

About the Role
The QA Engineer – Automation designs, develops, and maintains automated testing frameworks for enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring software quality by partnering with development teams to expand test coverage, integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, and support reliable and efficient software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing test automation frameworks.
- Collaborate with development teams to expand automated test coverage and improve software quality.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
- Apply risk-based, exploratory, and continuous testing strategies within Agile environments.
- Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects and automation issues.
- Support testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, frameworks, and testing practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional QA automation experience.
- Proficiency with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience automating REST API testing.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
- Knowledge of containerized testing environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Familiarity with behavior-driven development frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
- Basic understanding of security testing fundamentals, including OWASP principles and penetration testing.
Pay
Salary range: $115,000–$130,000 annually.
