QA Engineer – Automation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer – Automation to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks for enterprise web, API, and distributed systems. The role involves partnering with development teams to expand test coverage, embed automation into CI/CD pipelines, and accelerate confident software delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong hands‑on experience with modern automation frameworks and a clear understanding of testing strategy, including risk‑based testing, exploratory testing, and continuous testing in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web, API, and distributed systems.
• Partner with development teams to expand test coverage and embed automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement risk‑based, exploratory, and continuous testing strategies in Agile environments.
• Validate data using SQL and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and document test results and defects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve overall product quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Four or more years of QA automation experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Hands‑on experience automating REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid SQL skills for data validation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
• Knowledge of containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud‑based testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
• Exposure to behavior‑driven development frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
• Familiarity with security testing fundamentals (OWASP, basic penetration testing).

Pay

Salary range: $115,000 – $130,000 annually.

Schedule

100% Remote (U.S.) – Full‑time, Direct W2.
