About the role

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) seeks an Area Administrator to lead the QA/CQI team in Region 5, covering Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Western Washington. The role involves implementing quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives, supporting field offices, and representing the region on statewide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and lead regional quality assurance initiatives and plans.
  • Monitor and report the effectiveness of performance improvement plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of improvement plans and recommend changes.
  • Coordinate with DCYF headquarters and regional leadership on action plans.
  • Provide consultation and feedback on data analysis findings and practice trends.
  • Support regional offices, supervisors, and staff in utilizing data to improve practice.
  • Train and assist staff in using FAMLINK for data management and reporting.
  • Supervise and direct the work of the QA/CQI team.
  • Participate in work groups and attend meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and implement data cleanup efforts in FAMLINK.
  • Prepare and conduct policy and practice training for staff.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in management or supervision in Social Services, Mental Health, or Education.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration, or a related field with five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • A Master’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration, or a related field with three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Working understanding of safety and risk assessment, family preservation, principles of family-centered and child-focused practice, and strategies for family engagement.
  • Experience providing direct services to children and families served through the public child welfare system.
  • Advanced management skills, technical, clinical, and legal knowledge.
  • Understanding of state and federal laws and policies related to social and health programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regional support programs.
  • Interpersonal skills required to work cooperatively with other agencies, public speaking skills, understanding of organizational change, and problem-solving skills.
  • Credibility to take the lead in project development and coordination.
  • Adaptability to use various electronic applications.

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in management or supervision in Social Services, Mental Health, or Education.

  • A Master’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration, or a related field with three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Two (2) years of the required paid social service experience must include assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services.
  • One year of training experience.

Pay

$99,418 - $124,272 Annually

Schedule

Hybrid schedule allowing for some teleworking options. Travel within the Region and State is required. Occasional National travel may be required.
