QA Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

About the role

A Quality Assurance BCBA supports clinical quality, documentation integrity, staff development, and compliance of ABA services provided by Able Stars ABA LLC. As a member of the Quality Assurance team, this individual reviews clinical documentation, identifies areas for improvement, provides constructive feedback to clinicians, and helps ensure services align with accepted ABA practices, payer requirements, applicable regulations, and company protocols. This position works collaboratively with leadership, BCBAs, RBTs, and QA support staff.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Infrastructure: Develop and maintain clinical systems and standards, including Central Reach workflows, note templates, and documentation practices.
• Payer Compliance: Maintain strong knowledge of payer requirements and ensure treatment plans, reassessments, and documentation meet all regulatory and billing standards.
• Treatment Plan Oversight: Review and approve all treatment plans and reassessments until organizational scale allows delegation to additional clinical leadership.
• Training and Staff Development: Develop and oversee clinical and operational training for new BCBAs and RBTs and provide ongoing mentorship and professional development.
• Credentialing and Certification Oversight: Track and oversee RBT PDUs, recertification requirements, and BCBA recertification compliance.
• Professional Development Pathways: Develop programs supporting RBTs pursuing BCBA certification.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee QA processes, including clinical audits and approval for billing, supported by QA assistants handling auditing and administrative corrections. Utilization review working alongside operations.
• Clinical Coaching: Address QA findings through clinician training and improvement plans, working with RBTs to support implementation and skill development.
• Clinical Consultation: Serve as the primary clinical resource for BCBAs, providing consultation on treatment across the full spectrum of client needs.
• Clinical Culture: Promote a collaborative, positive, and growth-oriented culture that supports clinician engagement, accountability, and excellence in care.

Requirements

• BCBA Certification: Must be active and in good standing with the BACB.
• Experience: 3 years’ experience as a practicing BCBA.
• Education: Master’s degree and completion of verified course sequences covering behavior-analytic principles and the ethics code.

Skills

• Clinical Auditing: Experience reviewing treatment plans, behavior support plans, and progress notes.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of insurance standards, HIPAA, and state-specific compliance rules.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and data collection platforms, preferably Central Reach.
• Communication: Ability to provide constructive feedback and train clinical staff.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical capability to spot data trends and documentation errors.
