QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)
About The Role
As a QA Automation Engineer (Playwright), you will make an impact by driving high-quality software delivery through test automation, API validation, database testing, and AI-assisted quality engineering practices. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure robust and scalable testing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and C#.
- Execute and enhance API and database testing to ensure application reliability and data integrity.
- Support Agile delivery teams through in-sprint automation and regression test execution.
- Leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve testing efficiency, productivity, and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, automate, and continuously improve testing processes.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Playwright automation using C#.
- Hands-on experience with REST API testing and test automation.
- Strong SQL skills with experience validating and testing databases.
- Experience working within Agile development environments, including in-sprint and regression automation.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps for test management and delivery workflows.
- Experience utilizing Copilot, GenAI, or AI-assisted testing tools within the software testing lifecycle.
- Understanding of AI-generated code validation, prompt engineering, and AI governance/guardrails in quality engineering.
Qualifications
- Experience building scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.
- Exposure to modern Quality Engineering practices and continuous testing strategies.
- Familiarity with AI-driven test optimization and test data generation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Hartford, CT. Based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements, the working arrangements for this role may change.
