QA Automation Engineer – Playwright & API
About The Role
As a QA Automation Engineer – Playwright & API, you will make an impact by driving quality engineering initiatives through scalable test automation, API validation, and team leadership. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, developers, business stakeholders, and offshore QA teams.
Responsibilities
Design, maintain, and enhance Playwright-based automation frameworks to improve test coverage and quality.
Develop and maintain API automation suites for business-critical services using modern testing tools and frameworks.
Coordination with offshore QA team members by assigning work, monitoring progress, and resolving blockers.
Review test cases, automation scripts, and defect reports to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
Support CI/CD integration and continuous testing practices to accelerate software delivery and improve reliability.
Requirements
6+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including both functional and automation testing.
Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
Strong experience in API test automation using Rest Assured (Java) or comparable frameworks.
Hands-on expertise in functional testing, test design, execution, defect management, and UAT support.
Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Experience working with onshore/offshore model.
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect management tools such as Azure DevOps.
Qualifications
Experience leading QA teams and coordinating testing activities across multiple geographies.
Strong understanding of test automation best practices and framework architecture.
Experience implementing continuous testing strategies within CI/CD environments.
Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
Exposure to performance, integration, or end-to-end testing in enterprise environments.
Skills
Experience with Playwright, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
Experience with API test automation using Rest Assured (Java).
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
