About The Role

The Automation Developer Analyst at Huntington plays a pivotal role in enhancing the company's software quality assurance processes through test automation. This position requires an individual with a strong aptitude for learning and proficiency in automation tools, functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating user stories and design specifications into automated test cases, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. Working closely with the Scrum team, the Automation Developer Analyst will assist in software releases, coordinate testing activities, and support continuous integration and deployment efforts. The role demands a self-motivated, organized, and collaborative professional capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in automation testing
  • Proficiency with industry-standard test automation tools such as Karate, RestAssured, Cucumber, or similar frameworks
  • Hands-on experience testing Restful Microservices
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and automation solutions
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools like Quality Center or Azure Test Plans
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java, Python, PowerShell, or Perl
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of TDD and ATDD practices
  • Experience with database management systems such as Oracle or MS SQL Server
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and browser compatibility testing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate user stories into comprehensive test cases for large-scale business initiatives
  • Develop, automate, and execute test cases regularly to ensure software quality
  • Create and maintain test scripts and test data using industry-standard automation tools
  • Participate actively in requirements reviews and provide feedback on functional specifications and documentation
  • Write, review, and maintain automation test scripts, ensuring adherence to best practices
  • Facilitate defect management meetings, track defect status, and prioritize fixes
  • Identify and document defects thoroughly to support quality delivery
  • Perform various testing activities including functional, regression, and integration testing
  • Develop and implement well-structured test scenarios and plans
  • Support production validation and post-release testing activities as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Huntington’s Agile testing strategies, standards, and procedures
  • Cook up coordination with the broader testing team and assist in software release cycles
  • Manage defect tracking and provide timely updates to stakeholders
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes and automation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
