About the role
The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality of technology that PSI provides to its customers. Senior QA Analysts are senior individual contributors without formal line management responsibility but provide guidance and advice to more junior team members. This role works closely with Software Engineering teams to understand what has been developed and with solutions and product teams to ensure business requirements are being tested. This is a full-time permanent role with flexible hours around core office availability Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute comprehensive end-to-end testing for key technology platforms, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Own responsibility for building, maintaining, and scaling test automation frameworks for backend, UI, functional, and performance/load testing.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior team members within the QA group.
- Develop, document, and execute detailed testing plans based on project requirements and best practices.
- Gather, analyze, and present testing metrics and activities to stakeholders to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with product teams to understand business requirements, performance SLAs, and feature specifications.
- Review feature requirements, exit criteria, and design test scenarios accordingly.
- Perform various testing types including functional, regression, integration, backend data validation, usability, end-to-end system testing, API testing, and performance/stress testing.
- Ensure applications are bug-free and ready for deployment by identifying, validating, and tracking defects using tools like Jira.
- Write, execute, and manage manual test cases and test plans to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Communicate testing status, QA risks, and roadblocks effectively to project managers and product teams.
- Interact with cross-functional teams including development, project managers, and client services to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for business users and clients, providing necessary guidance and issue resolution.
- Investigate and diagnose customer-reported defects, collaborating with support teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain and update product knowledge documentation to ensure team alignment and information sharing.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, scrum, and backlog grooming ceremonies.
- Validate data integrity from multiple sources such as files, XMLs, and databases.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in software QA automation.
- Proven knowledge of QA methods, standards, and processes.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle and automation testing technologies.
- Hands-on experience with QA automation tools and frameworks, including writing and executing automation scripts with Selenium WebDriver in JAVA or C#.
- Familiarity with version management and ticketing systems such as SVN and Jira.
- Strong understanding of RDBMS and SQL.
- Knowledge of ISTQB principles, testing, and debugging across multiple browsers and operating systems.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Additional skills in C#, Java, HTML, XML, CSS, and accessibility testing are advantageous.
