QA Analyst

About the role

The IT QA Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that Valeris' custom applications and reporting technologies function correctly. They collaborate with internal IT and business users to validate new features and assist in resolving defects.

Responsibilities

• Independently conducts quality assurance testing and analysis on custom applications and reporting technologies.
• Ensures applications and systems meet business standards and user specifications.
• Manages multiple testing projects simultaneously, adapting to new applications and systems.
• Participates in quality assurance testing and analysis on complex or enterprise projects.
• Scripts test cases for new releases and regression testing of custom applications and reporting.
• Works with IT team members to resolve defects and retest applications.
• Helps Operations personnel understand the application and explains test cases.
• Creates and tracks QA metrics for testing effectiveness.
• Utilizes Valeris' values as a guiding principle for the team's success.

Qualifications

• A 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, preferred.
• 3-5 years of software testing experience, including test plan creation and defect tracking, preferred.
• Experience with Selenium or another automated testing/scripting platform, preferred.
• Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a thorough approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to build and execute basic SQL queries, a strong plus.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
• Use hands to type, handle, or feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
• Flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
• This job operates in a professional office environment.
• Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
