About the Role
We are seeking an early-career QA professional who is passionate about learning and eager to grow within the field of software quality assurance. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to ensuring technology functions seamlessly. You will play a vital role in executing manual and automated tests to validate software functionality, performance, and usability, supporting our agile development processes. This position requires hands-on access to testing labs, hardware, and equipment, making it an on-site role based in our office.
In this role, you will support test planning, design, and execution within sprint cycles, assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects, and collaborate closely with developers and product teams to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. You will participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, contributing to the continuous improvement of QA processes. Under the guidance of senior QA engineers, you will learn and apply automation tools and frameworks, gaining valuable skills to advance your career in software testing.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual and automated tests to validate application functionality, performance, and usability
- Support test planning, design, and execution within agile sprints
- Identify, document, and track software defects and issues
- Collaborate effectively with developers and product teams to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospective meetings
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices
- Learn and apply automation testing tools and frameworks under supervision
- Assist in maintaining test documentation, reports, and metrics
- Support efforts to enhance software quality and reliability across projects
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in software testing or automation (Java, JavaScript, Groovy, or Ruby)
- Basic understanding of Agile development methodologies and Continuous Integration principles
- Experience with defect management and issue tracking tools such as Jira
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; Spanish language skills are a significant advantage
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Exposure to retail systems and industry tools such as Jenkins, Git/Gerrit, JMeter, Appium, and Perfecto
- Interest in performance, security, or accessibility testing
- Active engagement in professional learning through webinars, meetups, or online communities
