Purchasing Supervisor
Position Overview
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the procurement team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in procurement activities. This role involves managing a team of buyers, coordinating supplier relations, and optimizing purchasing strategies to align with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of buyers, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Review purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as finance and engineering, to ensure procurement aligns with company objectives.
- Align site procurement organization with global sourcing including cost out initiatives.
- Analyze purchasing trends, generate reports, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize procurement processes.
- Serve as an escalation path for expedited delivery and price negotiations.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical procurement practices.
- Facilitate daily management and performance monitoring for sourcing, and provide tactical and strategic direction for the members on the procurement Team.
- Identify projects that drive improvements in procurement efficiencies, generate PPV, indirect cost savings, improve On Time Delivery, support Quick Inventory Turns, and implementation of lean inventory strategies.
- Develop suppliers to improve gaps to performance in critical KPI’s
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role in a professional environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor relationship management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS Engineering, MBA)
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- P&L management experience
Work Type
This role follows an Onsite Work Schedule and requires working from your designated Regal Rexnord office on a full-time basis.
Pay
Expected Base Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000
