Purchasing Specialist-Knives, Camping & Fishing

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist for our Knives, Camping & Fishing category to serve our Customers by purchasing products and building relationships with our Suppliers. If you want a career in the outdoor industry, MidwayUSA might be the place for you!

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all Purchase Order management, in alignment with the Merchandising & Company strategies through the life cycle of the purchase order.
• Mitigate risk by identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
• Meet and negotiate with Suppliers to develop opportunities, obtain product or service information and manage delivery schedules.
• Participate in Promotions planning and implementation.
• Aid the Merchandising Manager with analysis and management of Inventory.
• Review Supplier Performance metrics & suggest & implement measures to drive improvement.

Requirements

• You will have 1-3 years’ experience in a position requiring attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication.
• A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related field is required.
• You are a user of MidwayUSA's core products.
• You have excellent product and technical knowledge.
• You have a positive attitude and a willingness to continuously improve our processes.

Qualifications

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.

Pay

Annual Salary Range (commensurate with experience): $55,000-$71,500 with annual benchmarking and pay increases to always ensure a competitive salary
