Purchasing Specialist / Buyer – Commodities & MRO
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality to support production schedules and material requirements
- Sourcing commodities, MRO items, and services in compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 and ITAR/export control requirements
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations to achieve best value in cost, quality, delivery, and risk
- Issue, manage, and maintain purchase orders and supplier agreements per company and regulatory standards
- Maintain supplier performance and expediting orders to prevent shortages or production disruptions
- Review purchase order acknowledgments, supplier documentation, and invoices for accuracy and compliance
- Resolve and document supplier issues, including non-conformances, shortages, late deliveries, and pricing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate procurement records to support audits, traceability, and document control requirements
- Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in physical inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy within the ERP system
- Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned based on business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in regulated environments (ISO, AS, ITAR preferred)
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing terminology
- Experience negotiating pricing, lead times, and delivery commitments with suppliers
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Understanding of procurement controls, documentation requirements, and audit readiness
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred

- Current work authorization in the country of employment required
