Purchasing Specialist / Buyer – Commodities & MRO

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality to support production schedules and material requirements
  • Sourcing commodities, MRO items, and services in compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 and ITAR/export control requirements
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations to achieve best value in cost, quality, delivery, and risk
  • Issue, manage, and maintain purchase orders and supplier agreements per company and regulatory standards
  • Maintain supplier performance and expediting orders to prevent shortages or production disruptions
  • Review purchase order acknowledgments, supplier documentation, and invoices for accuracy and compliance
  • Resolve and document supplier issues, including non-conformances, shortages, late deliveries, and pricing discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate procurement records to support audits, traceability, and document control requirements
  • Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy within the ERP system
  • Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned based on business needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in regulated environments (ISO, AS, ITAR preferred)
  • Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing terminology
  • Experience negotiating pricing, lead times, and delivery commitments with suppliers
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Understanding of procurement controls, documentation requirements, and audit readiness
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred

  • Current work authorization in the country of employment required
