Purchasing Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to join Stanley Black & Decker in Elyria, OH. This is a 6 month contract position that requires onsite work in Elyria, OH and the ability to commute.

Responsibilities

• Leading high-level negotiations with global suppliers to secure competitive pricing and optimize lead times, reporting to the Global Supply Management team.
• Cultivating and managing strategic partnerships within assigned commodities, ensuring accountability and swift resolution of operational or quality discrepancies.
• Executing all purchasing deliverables for product development cycles, identifying supply base gaps, and onboarding high-performance suppliers to meet project timelines.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Have 3–5 years of progressive experience in professional purchasing or strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of successful negotiations.
• Possess preferred experience in Electrical components, Motors, Bearings, Plastic Resins/Injection Molding, Powdered Metal, Hardware, and/or Packaging.

Qualifications

While not specified, a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

$35-38/hr based on experience
