SUMMARY
The purchasing & inventory agent is responsible for activities involved with procuring goods and services such as stock components, equipment and supplies for branch operation. This individual will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management including evaluating stock levels, identifying, incoming inspections and liquidating excess inventory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer phones: assist customers with basic questions, quotes, and sales transactions.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
- Maintains proper inventory levels to support manufacturing objectives.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Prepares work orders and pulling parts for fabrication.
- Reviews all order acknowledgments to confirm supplier acceptance of HCI terms and delivery requests.
- Inspects goods for defects and discuss unacceptable goods or services with vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Works to correct any inventory transaction discrepancies that have caused inventory accuracy to fall outside the acceptable guidelines.
- Works with suppliers to verify receipts and shipments to and from the supplier are accurately transacted to match actual shipment and receipt quantities.
- Receive items using FIFO procedures to verify the daily accuracy of receipts and file put away reports.
- Works with Engineering to create accurate quotes.
- Create, edit or assist with new forms and Statements of Work.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient on Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to learn and become proficient on TrulinX Operating Systems (ERP).
- Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
- Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
- Basic mechanical know-how: ability to learn about a product, its purpose and function. Ability to learn and use basic hydraulic, electronic, and power transmission terms.
