Purchasing Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support daily procurement operations for a contract opportunity based in South Burlington, Vermont. This position will help maintain efficient purchasing workflows, coordinate order activity, and ensure materials and information move accurately through the purchasing process. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable working with purchasing documentation in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Support day-to-day procurement tasks by preparing and processing purchasing documents in a timely manner. • Create, review, and track purchase orders to help ensure accurate order placement and follow-through. • Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to confirm product details, delivery timing, and order status. • Maintain organized purchasing records and update department data to keep information current and accessible. • Assist the purchasing team with routine operational activities that contribute to smooth departmental performance. • Monitor open orders and follow up on outstanding items to help prevent delays or discrepancies. • Experience supporting purchasing, procurement, or related administrative functions. • Working knowledge of purchase order creation, review, and tracking processes. • Ability to manage multiple purchasing activities with strong attention to detail. • Familiarity with the day-to-day operations of a purchasing department. • Strong organizational and communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors. • Proficiency with standard office software and systems used to manage purchasing records.
