Purchasing Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Assist the inventory and procurement department
  • Manage the open purchase order report with a heavy focus on expediting
  • Resolve pricing discrepancies and other issues as needed
  • Maintain stock outs and make recommendations for changes in stocking levels
  • Communicate with the field on purchase order issues, extended lead times, and critical customer requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance and respond to the daily needs of customers
  • Aid with projects as desired

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in purchasing
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Purchasing experience
  • General Industrial Supply and product experience
  • Computer literate, preferably with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work closely with others in a team environment, good interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable to change; must be willing to make necessary adjustments to meet department workload and deadlines
