About the role
The Purchasing Assistant provides office support to the Purchasing Department with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. Specific responsibilities include data entry, tracking vendor issues, preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining purchasing records, coordinating with suppliers, and assisting with filing documents.
Responsibilities
- Perform data entry, track issues with specific vendors, and communicate findings to buyers.
- Process reminders and order confirmations.
- Create and generate purchase orders and corresponding documents in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain complete and updated purchasing records/data and pricing.
- Cook up coordination with suppliers and locations to ensure on-time delivery.
- Provide effective communication regarding accounts payable issues with vendors and staff.
- Aid in various projects by completing them thoroughly by assigned deadlines.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- One to two years of administrative and/or customer service experience.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
