Purchasing Analyst - Food Buying

About the role

The Purchasing Analyst monitors stock levels in regional distribution centers and evaluates store orders to ensure product availability.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages assigned project and/or department data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
• Conducts data entry and data management for various department projects
• Assists with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
• Monitors stock levels in regional distribution centers to ensure adequate availability
• Analyzes store orders and uses the information to place orders with vendors
• Liaises with vendors regarding delivery requests such as arrival schedules and minimum order quantities
• Creates and maintains sales reports for senior management and analyzes sales figures to project future volume requirements
• Evaluates vendor performance and provides feedback to the relevant buyers
• Liaises regularly with buyers regarding assortment and vendor changes
• Communicates with internal departments regarding product availability, delivery schedules, and store order patterns

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in a related field
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field will meet the education and related experience requirements

Physical Job Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Pay

Starting pay of $33.66 per hour (with potential to earn $38.47 per hour in the future).
