About the role
The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States and home to the largest core making machine in the world. Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus on safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world. With over 800 employees at the foundry, we are looking for someone who can support process development projects for the continuous improvement of safety, quality, velocity, and cost of manufacturing.
This role processes requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost and price analyses, and contract/purchase order generation.
Responsibilities
- Develop improvement plans to support buyers and professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets, Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.
- Perform analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, build expertise for the assigned process area, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Support customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
- Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Data-driven Decision Making: Basic knowledge of the data-driven decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to gather and analyze data to make organizational decisions that align with strategic business objectives and goals.
- Procurement: Basic knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment, and services needed to conduct business.
- Knowledge of a Specific Procurement System: Basic knowledge of the features, functions, and operations of MFG Pro, Lognet, and Procure.
- Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Basic knowledge of policies, regulations, and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment, and services.
- Logistics Management: Basic knowledge of the processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict, and control the movement of goods, materials, and supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous foundry experience (top candidates will possess this).
- Experience in purchase order grief resolution.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerBI.
Schedule
This is a 1st shift, onsite position requiring five days a week in Mapleton, IL.
Pay
Summary pay range: $72,360.00 - $108,540.00. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
