About the role
The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.
Responsibilities
- Gathers, prepares and maintains purchase and payment documents.
- Works with vendors to collect quotes, invoices and etc.
- Pro Card Holder and reconciles purchases.
- Maintains compliance with the Model Procurement Code (KRS 45A).
- Performs duties in the performance of and, or, payment of goods and non-professional services in accordance with the agency’s policies.
- Performs other duties as directed by Fiscal Manager and Supervisor.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Experience, Training, or Skills: Four years of purchasing experience.
- Certification: Certification as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) from the Universal Public Certification Council will substitute for one year of the required education.
- Substitute Education for Experience: None.
- Substitute Experience for Education: Additional experience in purchasing, administrative, accounting, procurement or a related field will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
