Position Summary

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, distribution of supplies and medical equipment.

Position Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates material management functions.
• Manages purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams.
• Responsible for continuous improvement of material flow, utilization analysis and supply chain optimization.
• Accountable for all medical supply/services spend and resultant financial results with respect to budget/forecasting/targets.
• Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams.
• Directs product conversion efforts.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Supply Chain Management within a health care facility system or other relevant experience.
• Proven working experience as purchasing manager and procurement.
• Proficiency with a computerized accounting system.
