Prior Experience
- An electrical contractor, or
- An electrical distributor,
- Mechanical / HVAC contractors or distributors,
- Plumbing / piping contractors or distributors,
- Fire protection / sprinkler systems,
- Low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling companies.
Requirements
- 2+ years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry preferred
- Commercial and/or industrial project experience
- Low voltage or wireless experience preferred
Qualifications
- Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills
- Proactive, collaborative mindset with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Vista/Viewpoint preferred
Skills
- Partner with Project Managers to plan and execute purchasing strategies aligned with project estimates and timelines
- Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to protect company interests
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals and make recommendations
- Track and ensure timely receipt of contracts, insurance certificates, and required documentation
- Cook up with internal teams (Fleet, Logistics, Project Teams) on equipment and material needs
- Maintain accurate data in project and cost systems
- Support cost control and estimating initiatives through accurate reporting and insights
