About the role

This position provides execution and administrative support to the purchasing team with a primary focus on delivery assurance and supplier follow-up for existing purchase orders. The role is responsible for driving on-time delivery performance by managing supplier communications, renegotiating delivery dates when required, and maintaining accurate delivery commitments to support the production schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day delivery assurance activities for existing purchase orders.
  • Monitor open purchase orders to ensure material is delivered on time to meet the production schedule.
  • Follow up with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and shipment status.
  • Renegotiate delivery dates when required to align supplier commitments with internal schedule changes.
  • Update purchase orders with revised delivery dates and delivery-related notes in the ERP system.
  • Process and act on weekly Open PO reports, including reviewing supplier responses and updating delivery commitments.
  • Escalate delivery risk as needed.
  • Review internal exception shortage and late to required reports and take action to align part deliveries with the production schedule.
  • Coordinate the return of non-conforming material to suppliers for rework or replacement.
  • Track supplier rework or replacement commitments and delivery timelines.
  • Communicate the status of returns to purchasing and operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of delivery commitments, supplier communications, and follow-ups.
  • Support Buyers by managing delivery follow-up and exception resolution activities.
  • Provide status updates related to delivery performance and open issues.
  • Perform special projects and cross-coverage activities within the purchasing team as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Syteline (Infor CSI) experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and revisions for machined and sheet metal parts; GD&T knowledge preferred.
  • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts (MRP/APS, lead times, shortages, exceptions, required dates).
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple purchase orders in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for identifying issues and driving problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite position in Georgetown, TX, and is a Contract to Hire position.
