Pupil Support Assistant (PSA): HHS Cross Country

Purpose: PSA will assist in maximizing the learning experience of children with special needs during their participation with High School Track & Field.

Hours

Approximately two hours per day, Monday through Saturday, and meets if the student participates. Position runs from 9/3/2026 to 10/21/2026.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist lead staff in providing behavior reinforcement and managing the student's needs while at Track & Field practices and events.
• Assist and support interpersonal skills and activities, daily living needs, and social/emotional needs for the student.
• Be flexible with schedules.
• Supervise and assist the student during arrival and departure from Track & Field practices and events.

Qualifications

• Meet one of the following: at least two years of qualifying college credits (usually 60 credits in Minnesota) through an accredited institution; an associate’s or higher degree with qualifying coursework; or a passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment.
• Ability to follow program direction as provided by the program coordinator.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and support students with activities of daily living.
• Demonstrate prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.

Compensation/Benefits

Starting rate of pay: $19.40 per hour for non‑contracted work (less than 11 hours per week). See the Paraprofessional Master Contract for benefits information.
