Pump Station Operator I, II or Senior

About the role

The City of Plano seeks dependable, hard-working individuals to join our team as a Water Pump Station Operator in the Pumping Facilities Department. Our team works 24/7 to keep things running smoothly from our Ridgeview Pump Station (located near Ridgeview Dr. and Custer Rd.).

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the SCADA system that manages four (4) pump stations, six (6) lift stations, and ten (10) water towers.
• Receive and dispatch after-hours service calls for various city departments (except police, fire, and animal services).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
• Experience with SCADA systems preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one (1) year of related experience.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and operations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Proficiency with SCADA systems.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

Salary range for Water Pump Station Operator I is $35,000 - $40,000 annually, for Water Pump Station Operator II is $40,000 - $45,000 annually, and for Senior Water Pump Station Operator is $45,000 - $50,000 annually.

Schedule

• One position works Wednesday and Thursday 12:00 AM—8:00 AM and Friday and Saturday 12:00 AM—12:00 PM.
• The second position's schedule is yet to be determined but will include nights and weekends.
• Overtime is available to cover other shifts.
