About the role
The Pultrusion Supervisor leads and supports the daily operations of the pultrusion production team, ensuring Safety, Quality, Productivity, and On-Time delivery. This hands-on leadership role focuses on coaching employees, team building, maintaining compliance standards, and driving continuous improvement. Success means developing a skilled, engaged team that consistently meets performance goals while living out our TRUE values.
Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and coach a team of 20-30 pultrusion employees.
- Build a cohesive and supportive team focused on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and training objectives.
- Conduct daily kiosk meetings: communicate priorities, lead stretches, and assign tasks.
- Ensure all team members are trained and competent; develop and execute training plans with the Manager.
- Conduct 30/60/90-day and annual performance reviews.
- Promote a positive, engaged work environment aligned with TRUE values and company policies.
- Administer employee discipline in collaboration with the Pultrusion Manager and HR.
- Manage shift schedules, time-off requests, attendance points, and timesheet reconciliation.
- Maintain a safe work environment through daily inspections and enforcement of PPE, floor management, and waste stream policies.
- Ensure adherence to work instructions and product acceptance criteria.
- Inspect processes, products, and equipment to meet or exceed Safety and Quality KPIs.
- Verify equipment and tools are maintained and in proper working condition.
- Plan and monitor workflow to achieve production goals on time, in full, and within quality specifications.
- Review upcoming production schedules to prepare accordingly.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and take action to optimize results.
- Lead and participate in collaborative continuous improvement activities.
- Direct 6S improvement initiatives within the department.
- Complete daily supervisor reports and audit checklists.
- Ensure accurate production reporting, scrap, and barrel management systems.
- Collaborate with other Supervisors, Manager, and departments to maintain effective communication across shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven leadership and team-building experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong focus on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and People.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanically inclined; able to read a tape measure and basic technical drawings.
- Able to work and lead with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable using computers for data entry, timesheet reconciliation, email, and KPI tracking.
- Ability to properly prioritize and pay close attention to details.
Work Conditions
- Hands-on leadership role located on the production floor, standing for up to 12 hours a day.
- Work with or around power tools, loud equipment, and chemicals.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
